Mozilla Corporation has named its new CEO in replacing interim CEO Laura Chambers.

Anthony Enzor-DeMeo has been named the new CEO of Mozilla Corporation. Anthony Enzor-DeMeo was SVP of Firefox from 2004 to July 2005 and then from July until now was the GM of Firefox at Mozilla. He’s written a public message today in his first day serving as the new chief executive for Mozilla.

Third: Firefox will grow from a browser into a broader ecosystem of trusted software. Firefox will remain our anchor. It will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions."

At least they’re consistent, you gotta give them that much. 😞

There’s also the Ladybird browser that I really, really wanna cheer for. I could easily see it becoming the “saviour” that was Mozilla’s role way back when.

between the crap FF has been pulling and the pressure at work to use a Chrome equivalent (we use a lot of MS products), I am finding it hard to hang on

Nobody, ever wanted firefox to become modern AI browser, there are like 5 people in the world that even want AI browser. I hope either servo or ladybug will actually make a functioning browser before firefox implodes completely.

      Well, nobody wants AI…
      Nobody wants to donate…
But everyone wants FOSS (F= free)…
So how are they supposed to finance themselves… Surprise, surprise, this can happen with many OSS applications… Because everyone wants OSS as FOSS but supports it with 0 cents. Ultimately, we users are to blame… That has been clear for a long time… That may be the reason why she became CEO… Mozilla is not financially secure.

They seemingly don’t care for their existing users, why would they donate? Also how much money goes into developing firefox and not another project of the day?

        Mozilla is not financially secure.

Not while they pay their ever-changing string of CEO’s millions and their contributors… wait, do they even still have contributors?

Says I, who’s been using nothing else for decades.

Maybe people would like to donate if they did not promise to implement features their customer base hates?

Does servo accept donations? Are they a non-profit? They could use this to generate some news for themselves and get people excited about a browser built upon their engine.

Welp, I can’t wait for Firefox to crash and burn now, just put it out of it’s misery already. These clueless CEOs are going to bugger everything up and push away the few people that want to stick with Firefox as Chromium based browsers aren’t their vibe. I jumped ship a while ago, after they started playing with AI bullshit. Glad that I did, having read all the news about Firefox and AI up till this point. How fucking cursed.
