Damn, you’re right. I suppose as long as they stay in ~/.config and out of ~/Documents I’ll be happy. Now that I’m actually looking the only offender there on my filesystem is Kitten Space Agency. It created a ~/Documents/MyGames/. They should rename it to Kitten Whitespace Agency.

They are already, Proton has at least My Documents to ~/Documents symlinked. And there’s
.config/unity3d/And some more somewhere else.

Nope, they are already symlinks. Wine desktop integration. Proton has a few less. I remember Documents in both.
