Its interesting last month or so youtube has seemed to switched on how it feels about Linux lately. You get small creators that are making videos like the above and its awesome.
There are quite a few great linux content creators on youtube. The Black Don, Tony (his tmux config is top notch), typecraft, Diinki, Vimjoyer (who pretty much taught me how to use NixOS completely), and Veronica Explains.
Although Veronica is unfortunately taking time off because of the comments she receives which really sucks as her videos remind me of old episodes of the Screen Savers and Call for Help.
Given the end of Windows 10 and how many are not happy with Windows 11, its probably an thing the community themselves is responsible for. Also lot of popular YouTubers make videos about Linux, which surely contributes to the popularity increase of the topic in YouTube. I wouldn’t attribute this perceived change to YouTube itself.
Her enthusiasm is addicting. Love seeing people get so excited over using their own OS/Machine!
Love her videos. she got me hooked on DWM and ST.
