I like using TOUGH & HUGE storage Corsair (SP?) Thumb Drives, but the last one got malware issue & before I discovered it infected my old LT.

What are the best thumb drives, by TOUGHNESS & LARGE STORAGE SPACE?

Are there any Thumb Drives that have Protection Software Already Installed in Them?

I don’t see how a thumb drive can protect itself from malware, as it’s the running OS that performs malware detection/protection.

The only thing a drive can do is prevent writes.

There are indeed thumb drives with proprietary encryption software on them. I personally wouldn’t trust them over something like Veracrypt though, which is supported on almost any OS/device you’d ever need to use.

If when saying “protection” you don’t mean encryption and instead something else, then idk.

There are a few flash drives available with hardware write protection. They are hard to find though. Just set the switch to write protect before plugging it into an untrusted device and nothing can be written to it.

But if I understand you correctly, with those thumb drives one could not be protected as well as his/her/their LT is & be able to write to it at the same time. What good are those? Switch on the ability to write on those thumb drives, then thumb drives are not protected? Seemed only good for backing-up files from LT & other thumb drive(s), until thumb drive is full, then switch to no longer writeable capable & save as archive of the files?
