Love her music, she’s a lyrical genius!

Thought I’d try this style again, I enjoyed it both times. I took a different approach to her hair, I really like the way it came out.

Close to twenty years now. No scars other than some very mild discoloration on my wrist. Most days even I can’t find it. The wrist got the brunt of the first, hottest steam, it’s likely it was pushing past second degree. I do recommend you avoid the sun on the first summer. The new skin is quite susceptible to sun damage and staining.

I had a single, continuous, 1 inch tall boil from wrist to elbow, plus smaller ones around, and first degree burns on the rest of the arm, the chest, the face. Had to change bandages twice a day at the hospital initially (thankfully at walking distance from home and school at the time). Silver sulfadiazine is a miraculous cream. I still keep a small tub at home, too bad its shelf life is really short.

The worst part was the ER. I got under a cold shower to ease the pain until someone could take me. The wait between leaving the shower until they could actually give me morphine was brutal agony. I asked for more but they said they couldn’t. Still hurt like hell.

      Damn, brutal! That sounds terrible.

Waiting for the ER to let me in was the most pain I’d ever felt to that point. I thought I was going to pass out. The drugs they gave me worked really well and stayed in the system through visiting the burn unit the next day. The day after the burn unit when I had to start cleaning the wounds on my own was even worse. Nearly an hour in a cold shower shivering and crying because it hurt so much to get the bandages off and clean.

I honestly didn’t think I could do it and was afraid of shower time the following day. But I got through it with a lot of help from my amazing wife! She’s now a pro at dressing burn wounds!

By my second visit to the burn unit the bandages were just falling off and the pain was more annoying than painful. My abdomen is still tender but my arm is fine.

And will do with staying out of the sun, they gave the same directive.

Yeah, removing the old cream is torture. I’m glad your wife stepped up as your nurse. And thanks for keeping sharing your art through it!

You’re welcome! My art is a coping mechanism sometimes, I find my art is at its best when things are at their worst. Pretty sure that’s a common thing but it was a revelation to me not that long ago.
