I’m trying to access the documentation for the playerctl library. According to the github page it is hosted on dubstepdish[.]org, which redirects (indirectly) to cdfstarfighter[.]com/gameinfo, which seems to be some kind of slotmachine game site?
Is it me or is that not intended?

The domain registration probably expired. It’s pretty common for someone to buy up expired domains and point them to crap like that.
Thanks for the comment, you’re probably right. Do you think it would be appropriate to open an issue on github or something?
You could try. There are lots of open issues and the last commit was 5 years ago. It may have been abandoned.
I looked up the site on archive.org, but they don’t have any of the documentation pages archived. It looks like the documentation was just auto generated by gtk-doc, so you could clone the repo, install gtk-doc and generate the same documentation that was on the web site.
Yeah that was also my impression. Perhaps i should just start looking for a replacement.

I’m not familiar with this library or this dev, so I can’t say if this is intended or not. There’s plenty of bad actors out there who would love to get their hands on existing projects with a base of trust, which they can weaponize for their nefarious means.
