About as much as other DAWs, but you can rent to own it on Splice with no interest and it’s actually the best deal because you get two years of updates. I highly recommend it or getting the trial. Or hell, the most basic package is reasonably priced and you can probably find a limited 8-track license for cheap or possibly free.

            Get the trial.

I will probably end up buying it if it at least approximates Audacity’s sliding stretch type parameter automation and i like the workflow. Does it work with video too or just audio?

Just audio unfortunately. No other workflow compares to me. It’s laid out similarly to Ableton, but more modern. (it was made by former Ableton devs).

If automating parameters appeals to you I think you’ll like modulators a lot. Bitwig 6 did improve Automation as well.

Edit: oh and it comes with a bunch of great stretch algorithms. Not sure if they’re all in the cheaper editions however.

Do you know any video editing suites that easily allow for that, like makes it easy to do linear or curved ramps and the pitch gets higher or lower when its automating the changing speed?

I have LumaFusion for iOS and its fantastic but i havent found anything like it on Windows. After Effects almost but it overcomplicates the keyframing and its essentially impossible to get what i want from it

I do not unfortunately. I just know that native syncing to a video file within Bitwig itself without a plugin or workaround is one of the most requested features. Maybe it will be added in Bitwig 7 or 8.

I can wait, I have a video app which can do all that but its fussier on the small screen rather than something on a computer haha

Wat DAWs while we’re on that subject

Looking forward in particular to being able to automate reverb, low pass filters, and delay in particular
