No, the comment i replied to was talking about abuse. And abuse is rampant in the world, not easily preventable.
If you don’t prepare yourself for when it will happen to you, and we all know it will, the shock will likely be too much to bear.
Slowly building resilience would mean that even without a strong support system, the person won’t collapse when encountering an abusive situation.
In a world where you can’t be there for them and the world itself doesn’t support them, you gotta prepare them for when they’ll have no choice but to be on their own.

Learning how to deal with abuse is a good thing obviously, but I don’t think that we should do that by just abusing people on purpose when it’s not necessary at all.
