    And yet we keep hearing from Intel how well their 18A node is doing.

    I understand they went a measure of competition between their internal fab and 3rd party fabs (i.e. TSMC), similar to how Samsung operates, but 18A was supposed to be return to form. We haven’t really seen Intel being all that competitive since 2018 or so (Zen+).

      Up to and including Zen 2, Intel was still competitive, but overpriced.

      As for 18A vs N2, it seems like TSMC is much more ambitious with that node than Intel, which is presumably why it is coming much later. I believe volume production is planned for 2028? Meanwhile 18A is in risc production already
