If i didn’t already have access to an isolated cabin, for this exact type of vacation. I think i could get over all the religuous iconography in order to access this kind of silence and solitude only an hour outside a major metro area. “Don’t talk to me” is an actual rule instead of me just being weird and rude.
Not big on the Christian bent. There is a place about an hour away from Kansas City called camp Gaia. They aren’t completely isolated like this. But you can stay in a cabin and stay away from other people. It’s super quiet and is run by some old hippies.
@[email protected] https://gaearetreat.org/ this the one you’re referring too? looks like a nice sensory vacation. finding these places is may be an internet rabbit hole i should not be falling down, but i fear it’s already begun.
Yep, that’s the one!
yeah the giant looming cross would be a problem. but being a athiest who was raised catholic, i can look at it as tacky decoration. the kansas city place sounds nice. hard to find something like this for people who arnt comfortable just grabbing a tent and wondering into a state park.
