A “Peace Bomb” was named after the way that Dave used to talk to passersby three deep in the Saturday Market crowds (while I engaged with the ones closer) and often pulled a lazy “think fast” lob to random ones — to the point that it became a thing, even made it into the local news. He didn’t want to make it a violence thing, a la sports phrasing, so “throwing a bomb” became “throwing a Peace Bomb”.
He really did fight a valiant battle against violence both in the world and within himself, to be honest. I truly believed in the message and the work we did together, and it’s one of my personal career highlights, frankly. It is a shame that his meth use tarnished that and pretty much ruined his life, but there’s a lot of good in those memories, otherwise. 🥰
