For those who prefer a more chat like experience there is now a weedtime room on XMPP. The server is new and we’re still working on some things but it’s more or less working and stable. If you’d rather use a QR code to join I’ve added that information to the sidebar here as well.

So, I’m sorry, what the hell is an XMPP client?
The app you use to access XMPP. There are lots of apps that support it through plugins or directly. Gajim is cross platform on PC. There are a few clients for Android. Monocles chat is my current favorite.
I’m looking at adding Matrix support through the Matridge gateway. It comes with some compromises. Notably, E2EE isn’t possible when communicating between the two. Since weedtime is a public room that’s not really a big deal but it would impact DMs between the two.
