    The wealth, stability, and growth of the US was built first on slavery and then on desperate people willing to work undesirable jobs for less than minimum wage in unpleasant or even hazardous conditions. When those desperate people are rounded up and deported, maybe it’s time to rethink the basis on which this society depends.

    I gotta wonder what this administration does if food prices start climbing again, after a record poor harvest season.

    Presumably, the first step will be to bail out the big agriculture landlords. But then, after that, I have to assume something with soylent.

    It would be a good idea to start paying actual reasonable wages for field work again.

    Then probably there wouldn’t be a shortage of workers there.
