For some strange reason, my kids have watched this multiple times now…

I tend to like a lot of what they like or at least understand why they like it.

    This… I… Just don’t get. Haha.

The story had real potential and never really sunk its teeth into any one aspect. Being accepted for what you are, your duty to the people, the social media rat race, the romance with a demon to collude against evil, a message to be constructive rather than demeaning… so many meaningful avenues that they just glance towards and don’t commit fully to any one.

The music honestly has a bunch of banger tunes…if you can get over the crazy amount of overuse of autotune.

Yep. Apparently the music was a big deal because I hear it’s streaming in my home now and then. Took me a bit to realize it was from the movie. 🤷🏽

And honestly, none of this bothers me at all. It’s just a curiosity. There’s nothing about the movie that I find offensive or wrong or weird. And what I do know of it seems to be more good than anything.

I just didn’t find it all that engaging myself.

And I had to look up Red Notice to remember what it was. I never watched it. After watching the trailer just now (sorta, I stopped bc I got bored), I still don’t know why I ever would watch it. I mean, i like all three actors, but how many times are they gonna make this same kinda of movie with nearly identical plots?

These view numbers are really interesting to say the least. But not in the way one might think.

Hahaha. That’s so true. It’s not like kpop demon hunters is a masterpiece either, but its definitely the better movie.

Why is Red notice so hated? I’ve watched it for the first time like a month ago and I had lukewarm expectations because of reviews and the internet. But I enjoyed it really a lot

Ehh, I think probably because it’s a lazily written, family friendly, action movie for people to only half watch while they’re on their phone. Heist movies with constant plot twists where everyone is double crossing one another all the time are pretty predictable and the viewer doesn’t really need to think about it much as the movie will just explain the plot to you again soon.

That, plus the type casting of Ryan Reynolds as the wise cracking protagonist, The Rock as the goofy sidekick, and Gal Gadot… who just can’t act, feels pretty over done and you’re just watching the actors play themselves with a bunch of car chases and explosions.

It’s in no way a good movie IMO… but I watched it and enjoyed it because I knew exactly what I was getting into and wanted to watch something I didn’t really need to pay much attention to while I spaced out for a couple of hours.

I enjoyed red notice, but its a forgettable and lazy movie. I don’t hate it, I just think kpop demon hunters is objectively a superior movie.

Honestly the ending felt like it abandoned everything the story was trying to teach us, and I figured it was done to leave it more open for future movies since they knew they had a hit on their hands.

Remember when “We don’t talk about Bruno” from Encanto was playing every where? Or “Let it go” from frozen? Kids will latch on to something and watch it on repeat! The view numbers mean something different when the demographic is children.

But you have to admit it’s at least good enough to become something kids latched into. It’s certainly not for everyone, and likely won’t win an Oscar… except for the music :)

Finally got my hubby to watch it. Totally not his type of movie at all, but he said it wasn’t bad. He expected it to be horrible.

Now I get to make references to the movie and he’ll actually understand them.

Wonder if I can get Soda Pop stuck in his head…
