They should add a little sticker that certifies that the humidifier supports water conservation, but in the sense of energy conservation or momentum conservation.

Oof, I get it, though… The difference between warm white and cool white is enough to make me want to die. I personally have a soul and enjoy being alive, so I prefer warm white myself.

my home actually has adaptive lighting, highly recommend. Gradually changes from cool to warm through the day

      https://github.com/basnijholt/adaptive-lighting

Need home assistant although some things like homekit can do adaptive lighting too, just not as feature rich. You also need bulbs that can do the full spectrum of white (or rgb) obviously

But the home assistant one can adjust based on sunlight, dim the lights concurrently in a specific room to help with sleep, and customize it (like most times the primary advantage of HA vs commercial options)

I miss incandescent and high pressure sodium. I remember walking out of school in the winter as a kid, middle of winter, sun already down, cold still air, so still. The snowdrifts would just radiate the warmest orange red yellow light. It just suffused everything in a blanket of comfy vibes. I can still hear the crunch and squeal of my footsteps.

I’m probably viewing it with rose tinted glasses as we are wont to do with childhood memories. But it’s still kinda sad. It doesn’t get cold enough anymore, and the lights are mostly out of production now. And I know we switched for good reason too. Still miss it though.

My hometown houses a state prison, and during the overcast nights of winter, the entire township would glow orange from the lights. You could walk through the woods without a light source and see everything that you needed to, bathed in an eerie but comforting glow. I totally feel you.
