Looking for places to have realtime chats.
Everytime I go back to IRC every channel is either dead, or one guy is there to yell at you for chatting ‘wrong’. I wish it was as good as it used to be
Many of the channels on programming languages and the like on libera.chat have several hundreds of users and one gets helpful responses quite quickly. Though it’s true of course that it’s less populated than it used to be.

I legit think all irc servers need this as a warning at this point. The etiquette can be so confusing for certain channels. Most do have everything ya need the in the welcome banner, but ime, the biggest irc fans are also consistently the last to receive newcomers warmly.

Good question. On libera.chat, the closest I could find is #privacy. But it would certainly be desirable to have a channel specifically for degoogling. Once created, it should grow pretty quickly. Do you or does anyone care to create it?
I could create one, although I can’t devote time to moderation. I think Libera would be a great home for it.
Still hoping to see if other communities already exist because joining would be better :)
Edit: @[email protected] and I are hanging out in ##degoogle in libera, come join!

This search engine searches among hundreds of networks, including LiberaChat and OFTC, and didn’t find anything:

I’d also be interested in such a resource. privacyguides forums may be a good place to ask around too.
