At least here in the US, you just spent the last eight months watching Democrats make fun of people who couldn’t afford basic food staples because they voted Donald. For the years prior to that, it was Republicans making fun of people who couldn’t afford basic food staples because they voted Biden.
So yeah.
I think we’re fairly comfortable with people starving, as long as we perceive it to be the right sort of people.
Yes you do have control, you just forgot to exercise it, or let you voted constituent go free. Did you ever write to one? Or change your vote once you found out what they did? There is always ways to fix what your voted constituent did. Problem is, the voted people removed those and you let them.
If I did vote for someone who voted this person in, I really didnt have another option that wasn’t worse, and yes I do write to my elected officials. Youre just assuming I don’t because you have no faith that anyone in this country is actually fucking advocating for themselves, and its really frustrating to see people like you, going around saying those of us who ARE ACTUALLY FUCKING FIGHTING ARE NOT.

At some point the populace is responsible for who they voted into power and didn’t petition for the checks and balances.
