First film in the series was Ocean’s Eleven, so there’s actually only three mainline films in the series including Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen. There was also an all-woman spinoff Ocean’s Eight (a la John Wick’s spinoff Ballerina). Anyway, Ocean’s Fourteen will be the fourth mainline Ocean’s films.

Don’t ask me why I know any of this I only ever saw the first one and never went out of my way to see it again. Thanks, Wikipedia, for helping me confirm details, though.

Considering the first one came out in 2001 it’s fucking wild that they’re trying to do followups 24 years later. Aren’t half these people legitimately old people now? Clooney is 64 and I am supposed to believe he is running a heist ring? Hell Brad Pitt is 61, Julia Roberts is 57, Matt Damon is 55, and Don Cheadle is 60. You gotta be kidding me.

They have to pay for their American healthcare.

Very misleading. They should call it Ocean’s Four or Oceans: IV

well then they should conform to naming standards and title them as numbered sequals with subtitles, such as:

          Ocean’s Eleven 2: Twelve

          Ocean’s Eleven 3: Thirteen

Ocean’s Eight Women (this one can explore title structure more freely since it’s not part of the main series)

          Ocean’s Eleven 4: Fourteen

          Advantages of this naming structure:

          • If they wanted to make another movie where they have the same number of thieves in their crew, their current non-standard standard would make it impossible, or very inconvenient. Like, what if they wanted to make another movie with eleven thieves in their crew? They’d have to call it Ocean’s Eleven 2, even though it’s not a direct sequel to Ocean’s Eleven. But with my naming standards (which are simply the industry standard) you can have Ocean’s Eleven 5: Eleven

          • Everybody will always know where they are in the series
