What are the best jobs for these types of people? Im a sales admin and just lost a boss who was amazing with letting us have freedom. Dreading the new boss’s setup already. I dont want to be an admin forever. Ive heard medical (EMS, nurse, radiography) and thinking like sales/marketing are good ideas. I like helping people in an environment where they arent already angry when they come to me lmao.
But it really depends on the kinda workplace you’re at and the management style. Lots of old school folks prefer the 9-5, minimal bathroom breaks, exact 1 hour long lunch, etc and you’ll find those people in all industries.
My office has always been more chill about the time spent at work and is more concerned with “are you getting your work done & is it quality” vs “is your butt in that seat from 9-5?” I’ve coworkers who visit a dog park for lunch, jog, or pick up kids from school. They just announce it, pop away, pop back in, and as long as you’re not missing meetings and getting what needs to be done in time, no one cares.
I have an industrial job where I’m on my feet all day, and most of the day, I have various pieces that are at different stages in the process all at once. Everybody else in my department also has ADHD. It’s a cakewalk for me, but I’ve noticed that most neurotypicals struggle with it.
I would get way too antsy sitting in an office or at home all day.
I heavily vibe with the meme, and I work as a programmer. Usually I have a task or two for several days so I just work at my own pace if it is not some high priority stuff. Sometimes it is 1 hour on 2 hours off, sometimes it is 10 hours of hyperfocus and a feeling of emptiness when I am done and want to continue.

Some creative fields are great with this!
