Average cost seems to be ~13-30B, so, this is somewhere from 6-2.5 plants. I’ll be surprised if more than one gets built with these funds with the current administration…
In terms of number of AP1000 reactors, it seems that’s no more than 10, very optimistically. That’s 10GW. Not a lot especially given the projected AI demand.
Great. More white elephants. When will people finally realise that these stupid things will never be economical?
Sooner is better than later on this, the expertise and supply chain for AP1000 isn’t going to hang around unused.
