ok so the Pixel 9 with Android (not Graphene) they can crack it and have full access even after a fresh reboot (BFU is Before First Unlock).
So useless to buy the latest phone…
but it also means you can get the latest phone and put graphene on it.
yes but google is not crippling this lastly? not releasing android sources or something? And does thing like “google Wallet” works in GrapheneOS?
Google wallet works except for actual payment cards. It still works for stuff like barcode tags and event tickets, it just shows you a “not secure” popup when you open it.
I think it means Graphene just doesn’t update to the newest android version, they can still update grapheneos, but on the last android version.
A number of banking and wallet apps do not work on rooted/alternative OS, but I think the solution to Google wallet is use a different wallet app.
