Latest Genshin Impact can work on Waydroid if you do some steps first. Bear in mind it is touchscreen only, so theres not much you can do without using a mapper.

Long long ago Genshin Impact stopped working on Waydroid, crashing (freezing) before loading the world. One user posted an issue on the repo, and after some time posted the patches applied for it to work. Seems like Genshin tries to apply optimizations for specific GPUs and doesn’t recognize your GPU correctly, so you have to force a vendor internally.

You can clone the github repo and apply the patches to the system image. Or if you trust people on the internet, download the patched images on the same repo.

Quite a normal temperature if it is for a Ryzen 7000 series which are known to run quite hot.

fairly sure that’s wayyyy past boiling

you wouldn’t look like that, you’d just be really dead

100C is boiling. Would still kill humans because of overheating, possibly burns as well.

i meant that the terminator freeze-frame mentioned is meant to depict a temperature way past boiling lol. carbon erupts into flame around 300°C iirc

Fucking cancer that still has me poisoned.

Every time I play I think “I should uninstall this garbage, this is not even a game, why am I torturing myself like this?”. Then I my addicted brain goes “oh, but there’s only x amount of primogems I need to get to try one last time to get this shitty character that is the same as every other one but with 1% bigger numbers. I already wasted so many months on this, I can give up now”.

It’s amazing how well they domesticated the human brain and that I let myself be controlled like that.

To call this slot machine, talking simulator, lollie masturbator thing a game is an offense to games.

I liked Genshin until I noticed I love more to waste my time programming and doing system administration. Genshit is just time waster 3000 it doesn’t even have a good history (my world level was like 50 lol). I played it primarily because it was really similar to Zelda Breath of the Wild

Pretty much same. I thought it was a Zelda clone and got hooked by the gambling mechanics.

I don’t even know what the story is anymore. I just put in autoclick and check some times to see if the game needs me to move to another place for another 6 hours of talk.

I used to pay attention but it’s just empty sausage to keep the player engaged longer cheaply. There is no puzzles or game play.

It’s as interesting and addictive as a slot machine, but with 10 hours of torture between each pull of the lever.

I started playing it because one of my friend invited me to. Back then the sponsoring stuff weren’t noisy enough for me to hate it.

I run the Windows build on Lutris just fine. You might have to cut the network for a few seconds during the launch (after you press “start game” in the launcher, before it loads the title screen)

It’s been about a year or so since I’ve played Genshin, but I played it exclusively on Linux through Bottles while a friend of mine played through Heroic and we had no issues. Did something change since then? What would be the benefit of playing it via Waydroid? (Except for testing, of course :P)

I tried it recently. They changed the rootkit and it’s a coin flip on Linux. Genshin is supposed to work, but I’ve never been able to launch the game.

I thought about it too 😁 But it also (presumably) means somewhat inferior graphics. So it’s a benefit with some cost if you care about extra polygons
