If God, Jesus, the devil, angels, and demons were all real, we still couldn’t rely on the Christian Bible as gospal (pun intended) — it was written by humans, specifically men, who could have misunderstood or invented things. Think of it like the Snyderverse in Man of Steel: Superman is portrayed as a brooding, violent character — but that’s not his true nature. In Batman v Superman, Batman is straight-up killing people — also not his normal characterization.
So even if much of the Bible reflects real events or real beings, parts of it could still be distorted, exaggerated, or entirely made up by the people who wrote it down.
And then the popes edited it further.
That’s completely and historically not true. Popes as we know them generally came about centuries later, by that time the New Testament was already in wide circulation (it was being widely circulated in three continents by the beginning of the second century so editing it after that point would have been impossible)
And we aren’t even talking about gnosticism yet! What if God was straight up evil and trapped us in the material world. All this stuff about what you can eat or wear or how to worship is just a distraction, luring us with the promise of a false heaven to keep us from realizing enough about how the world really works to escape the material world and escape suffering
The idea of a creator and universe-sustaining God being evil is completely illogical
What if I bred animals only to torture them. Would I be evil? Yes. I would. There’s no reason why a “creator and universe-sustaining God” can’t inherently be evil.

You’d think an omniscient omnipotent entity would have more journalistic integrity or at least cite a few reputable sources.
Isaiah 53
You know the New Testament is filled with old testament citations of prophecies being fulfilled? One prophecy was even written there so Jesus could fulfill it on the spot.
Luke 4:16-30
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read. And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” And all spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from his mouth. And they said, “Is not this Joseph’s son?” And he said to them, “Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, ‘“Physician, heal yourself.” What we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’” And he said, “Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land, and Elijah was sent to none of them but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.” When they heard these things, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath. And they rose up and drove him out of the town and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff. But passing through their midst, he went away.
This is a silly post. The Christian doctrine is that the Bible is the inspired word of God. So if Christianity is true, then yes, the Bible is reliable. Most of the doctrine in the Bible is by God (Jesus is God) or a guy Jesus appeared to in front of two other people and also prophesied to someone else that he should do missionary work. Also gave him His holy spirit to the point he raised dead people to life.
Inventing stuff is quite tricky when a lot of Jesus’ preaching was in crowds which carry numerous written testimonies
“Inspired word of God” differs by denomination though right?
I could be wrong, but I thought some viewed it as the exact word of God, others as the word of God as interpreted by the prophets
But when you look at things like canonization and other religions adding on (like Mormonism) it gets fuzzy. Yes, Christians believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but can you really be certain that each step of the process was 100% correct? You don’t think there’s any room for human error in canonization or translation?
