I switched to zed too. It’s not perfect but it’s just nice to use a different editor that is not sluggish.
Helix is much faster than neovim, but annoyingly it feels so limited. Can’t change anything about it.
But it’s supposed to get plugins at some point.
It was an attempt at humor. :)
Ok let me say it in a better way. People who work in IT do it because they like it. Many of the first world wide web pages or YouTube videos were made without anyone wanting any money for it. There was no profit motive or expectation whatsoever.
That’s why I thought it was funny to read how instance owners are doing labor without getting paid, as if that was the purpose of the instance. To get paid for running it.
To me that’s funny. It’s a bit like me painting a painting and putting it out there, and asking people to pay for my labor. The hours I spent making it. Because now the painting exists in the world. Who is gonna pay for it?
I believe instance admins are more than happy running the instance without profit motive. Because it’s nice to be part of giving something to a community of people.
I think I’m the wrong audience for this show. I just laugh at how the main character looks. And it’s not a comedy.
Yep I was thinking the same. I guess it’s a generational thing. Instagram is maybe like water to some young people, can’t be without it or life is sad.
I wish to get paid for my labor writing this comment.
Hated it. Watched a few episodes… Stopped. My life is too short to waste time on this.
I don’t think we will get to that level. It doesn’t make sense financially. I mean sure, replace people with robots will happen but it’s a long way from happening right now.
Link doesn’t work. Probably it’s a scam/hack attempt.
Probably for the best. Most of us die if there is a nuclear war, so just don’t even think about it. But live your life now.
I don’t think the world can prioritize something and the threat will go away.
I’m thinking I have 20 more years of being in working condition, so I’m planning to work less and travel more from next year already. Using my savings.
I don’t dare to wait until I’m 65 to do all those things. Many people get sick and don’t do anything.
You are describing me. :)
And yeah, I’m happy with my timeline. If anything, I would move it back even more. Born in the 60s would open up for a lot of cool stuff in the 70s.
I think maybe those words are true, but they are so generic they don’t say anything to me.
I think women has changed due to social media, and that’s causing the men loneliness.
Social media changed dating, and made it ok for both women and men to treat eachother as commodities, resources, status symbols.
This bleeds over in real life, where women don’t need/want to have relationships with men anymore (in real life) in the west (outside of their love relationship). They already get all the attention they need from hundreds of men on social media telling them they are beautiful.
A lot of western guys go for girls in Indonesia or Thailand these days, because they are kind and beautiful. Of course the girls see the opportunity to be with a guy from the west who has money. But it seems to work out. Both genders are often happy in those relationships, both get what they value from it.
Oh yes, they must be very private.
It’s become much more moderated and controlled. I think reddit is actually less controlled. I’m seeing conversations about Swedish immigration that would never be allowed on Lemmy.
On the other hand, I saw that Luigi was not allowed to be mentioned in Reddit now in some subreddit… So… Lol.
Path of Exile 2 got me hooked bad. The combat is actually fun and you have to use a few different abilities at the right time to be successful, at least as a monk. It feels very, very satisfying to fight both mobs and bosses in that game.
And the yellow rare items are actually rare, so using blue items is very necessary. Not like in the first game where you had yellow items drop constantly so blue was just useless and not even picked up.
All my stuff is on a network drive (movies and other big files). All configuration of apps is in git (their config files).
Makes it easy to start over.
I just reinstall apps I need, it’s so simple with Linux and package managers handling it all.
I have amazing memories of that game. It’s something about being a kid that makes games feel so exciting. That goes away later so just enjoy the hell of it while you are young. :)
