Personally, I see planned obsolescence as the same thing. It’s all to force you to buy new stuff whether you want to or not.

Anyone thinking “it can’t happen here,” wasn’t paying attention in history class. It has always been a part of us from the very start.

Honestly, that’s probably cheaper than an ad campaign.

What I meant is there is a separate overall setting to turn it off. I think it is an app specific setting. If you just turn them off in the settings for the show, it will only affect that session.

Also it’s sad to hear they’ve gotten worse. They were bad enough before when they were dub dialog only.

CC is a separate setting from the subtitles. There is a place to turn it off but it’s so unintuitive I can never remember it. All it really is, though is dub dialog. There was no attempt at proper closed captioning.

That probably is not so comforting when one of them is in control of half a ton of metal, plastic and glass in public.

This struck upon one of the greatest wishes of all corporations. A way to get work without having to pay people for it.

They’re not getting revenue from you either way. That’s really more effort than I would want to go through for what amounts to a display bug.

Not to mention most didn’t see a corresponding drop in revenue from views.

I’m not sure about Korean laws specifically, but they’re usually has to be actual damage to win a defamation case. If accusations of summoning demons caused them to lose business, it would count.

Well, unfortunately some people are using nuclear as an excuse to argue that we don’t need any renewables at all and that they should be banned entirely. They do this because they know that nuclear faces extreme regulatory and societal challenges and it would allow coal, diesel and gas to continue unabated.

So it creates a backlash where renewable advocates feel they have to fight nuclear to survive.

Solar isn’t the only renewable choice, though. It’s just the easiest to do on an individual level. Also, there are plenty of areas for which weeks of gloominess will never (on human timescales) be an issue.
