One time I was joining a meme group chat on Facebook Messenger and the admin told me I would be banned if I didn’t send her pictures of my butthole. I accidentally posted those picutes to my main account later on and got my account permabanned.

And because YouTube once had a reputation for being the best platform for information

I had to stop and think for a while to try and remember a time that I thought YouTube was a good place to be informed. I do remember back in 2016 a news-focused youtuber I trusted not only quit YouTube but also quit news entirely after getting disillusioned with the media ecosystem. (That was a sad day.) Back then he was only one of a few youtubers I trusted to deliver news to my ear holes. I can’t remember any point in time that I thought I could find good news by scrolling YouTube.

These days my news channel is Sir Swag, who does once-per-month world news videos. This gives them plenty of time to research and fact check, and overall are pretty good.

You already know who this guy is. As far as I can tell he’s either a leftist or pretty damn close to being one, and I would bet money on him not being a horrible person.

I agree with the other commenter’s points, but one thing I think people forget to mention is that BlueSky feels like Twitter in a way Mastodon just doesn’t. When I am trying to pitch Mastodon to people, I usually compare it to Tumblr because the vibes are similar.

Mastodon is also flat out hostile to influencers, and by that I mean the platform is designed to be terrible to influencers. The lack of an alogarithm means you can’t game the system, no quote tweets means you get less opportunities to spread, no reply limiting means your notifications are going to be going nuts from the replies. The culture on Mastodon is difficult to game too, since people there expect thoughtful responses to their replies.

BTW. When the DSM-5 talks about “a strong sense of justice” this is what it talking about. It’s not the sense of right and wrong that’s diagnosing, it’s missing the obvious fact that this joke came after what was probably 10-30 minutes of the comedian assessing how many people in the room were ADHD like him, then building up context that would allow the joke to land without hurting anyone’s feelings.
