Had the same thought. Definitely some weird stuff going on in the background, that has nothing to do with lemmy. Also lemmy has lots of different domains. Would be stange if everyone of them redirects.

I never thought about this idea, but like it very much! It’s like with semiconductors where you got different nm-technologies.
