I’m on the fence because I don’t think it would be an upgrade for me. I want a new PC, but, like… A better one and not just the same overall power but with RTX and DLSS.
I’ve got a Ryzen 5 3600, 1660 Super, and 16GB of RAM. Very little that has released this year performed poorly, and those that did had problems everywhere for everyone (like Stalker 2) when targeting 1080p@60fps. Or even 4K for some games (mostly 2D ones, but Civilization 4, 5, and 6 all play well at 4k too; IDK about 7 only because I don’t have it and the changes to it sound awful anyway).
But I want more power for VR. It’s a great flatspace rig; it’s low-tier as a VR rig. I want it to be silky smooth in VRchat even in the gnarliest of rooms with a ton of high quality avatars. It would be hella expensive tho… 😮💨
Regardless of the SM tho, I 100% want a Frame. The biggest gripe I have with the Quest 3 is the goddamn system software. The fucker is capable of so much more but they limit it with the locked down OS. Having a set running on Linux means I can do everything I want.
