Took forever for Google to stop recommending these bullshit “trailers” in the news feed on my phone
Thought that Animal Farm trailer was AI and lowkey got relieved when I clicked out of it, then it turned out to be fucking real. Slop, all of it. Also they prob used ai in that trailer anyways.
Will they keep up with enforcement, or is this like cops doing a photo shoot after a singular drug bust?
The channels later returned to monetization when they started adding “fan trailer,” “parody” and “concept trailer” to their video titles. But those caveats disappeared In recent months, prompting concern in the fan-made trailer community.
YouTube’s position is that the channels’ decision to revert to their previous behavior violated its spam and misleading-metadata policies. This resulted in their termination.
It sounds like they only banned them for not having a disclaimer that it isn’t a real trailer, so unless that deters people from clicking on them, I assume others will do the same thing just making sure to disclose.
I hate these so much. I hate even more how much AI content is sneaking into feeds without people realizing it’s AI. I hardly think Google was acting altruistically. The bottom line is always about money to them.
What a crazy age to be living in. I really just want to jump ahead several decades or jump back several decades. I’m not really enjoying things as of late…
It’s an increasingly unusably platform precisely because so many keywords return deluges of AI Slop.
I have to assume advertisers are getting rather miffed at spending top dollar for promotion on a premiere platform and getting outranked by some Coco-Mellon tier knock offs that have just gamed the algorithm
Aww the corporations are getting a taste of their own medicine
RedLetterMedia has made a few videos on these AI trailer channels. It’s always dumb stuff like Titanic 2.
Lord of the rings 4: Frodos revenge!
Sauron…somehow returned!
We’ve had one family yes, but what about second family?
featuring a crossover with fast and the furious
Lol what did those uploaders expect when they blatantly tried to so directly steal a page from Youtube’s monetization strategy?
This kind of nonsense is too dangerously close to the nonsense products tech companies are trying to sell and it risks making the general public realize how full of bullshit tech companies themselves are.
I was about to say Screen Culture then I saw the link and they’re literally the channel being talked about. lol
On the one hand, I don’t love that this benefits studios. On the other, I’ve had these things autoplay on me and I hate them. Overall, I’m happy
I remember watching a “trailer” for Godzilla x Kong, and I don’t think it was uploaded by your normal movie trailer/studio YouTube account. There was this weird voiceover through the whole thing, as if different cast members were just reading a script off a page, but it had an uncanny feel to it that I couldn’t quite place.
The footage on the other hand were all clips already shown in different trailers from what I remember.
