Google is pushing back its plan to fully replace Google Assistant with Gemini on most Android phones. The company had previously said it wanted to upgrade most mobile Assistant users to Gemini by the end of 2025. I can’t even ask Gemini to set an alarm or timer. Both things that were dead simple with assistant.
It straight up told me it can’t do it. I switched back to Bixby for trying to actually do things on my phone.
I actually preferred assistant for this task. It was much easier than opening clock, navigating, etc.
this totally works I use it all the time
