Because you’re an arrogant fuck who thinks he’s more important than he is, I’m sick of Jack Black and his single note acting style. He phoned it in in the Minecraft movie, he’s pretty much just the same annoying fuck in everything he does, it was funny 20 years ago, not so much now.
Watching something shit in your free time with no cost associated with it vs watching something shit in your free time that costs you ‘productive’ hours as well because it costs something.
Equals more time lost because now its not just free time but free time + [productive hours x2]
(its productive hours x2 because most people dont make enough money so that money spent still needs replacing to pay for better/more important things)
The CGI in that movie is just awful. It would have probably genuinely been better if they had just stuck to practical effects and just lend into the cheesiness.
Does a scene where one of the characters picks up a sword for the first time and honestly I’ve seen better quality Minecraft props on Etsy.
Thoughts on the movie aside, the CGI was done really well. I’m curious what you think was so awful about it. It’s more likely you just don’t like the style, which is fine, but that doesn’t speak to the quality of the work. There’s some great breakdowns from Corridor Digital going over a lot of the behind the scenes/how it’s made.
I almost always hate his films because he plays Jack Black. But I actually really, really liked his performance in Bernie. It’s a great film based on actual events and absolutely worth going in blind. He plays a different role to his usual fare and made me wonder if he would go on to do more interesting stuff, but then nobody watched it and he went back to the same shit he always does.
Isn’t it a similar thing for Adam Sandler? He’ll do an uncut gems every decade, but his go to movies are just to make money and hang out with his friends.
I remember going to see Punch Drunk Love, and the utter confusion on the faces of people coming out of the earlier showing. They had clearly gone to see an Adam Sandler movie, not a PT Anderson movie.
There’s a lot of actors now who bring the exact same energy to every role no matter if it calls for it or not, and I really don’t get how they remain actors when that is the one thing you really don’t want out of actors. I dunno.

He is cast for that and his name. Like most big hollywood actors/actresses, they are all type cast.
is cast
I think you mean cost. Easy mistake.
No, that is how much you pay for something. I think you ment crash.
No, that’s what happens when vehicles collide. I think you meant cash.
No, that’s what happens when you film a biopic with Joaquin Phoenix. I think you meant kush.
Damn, maybe I should get a grammarly ai subscription to miss these costly typos! Weird how I only fucked that one up and not the last one lmao.
They also get a song they can profit off with him… There’s always a shitty song with him.
It blows my mind that you would waste time seeing that Minecraft movie. The ads were torture…
I pirated it lol.
I think the person you were responding to was more confused as to why you’d want to see it in the first place, not that you’d have paid to watch it.
I like Minecraft and wanted to see if it was gonna be shit or not.
The time investment doesn’t change just because you didn’t pay for it.
It kinda does.

I watched a movie… Wtf is with the interrogation.
How dare you watch a movie that didn’t have the internet decency consensus!
Off to the deep web with you to sell your kidneys.
The unfinished VFX version made a great drinking game… not sure what the game was but we enjoyed it thoroughly, 10/10 would drink to more jason mamoa

the scenes where its just the people in cardboard villager outfits fucking killed me.

Be kind rewind was also good.

Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.
Love money to never life a day in your work.

Sometimes a role needs Jack Black, he is perfect in High Fidelity.

To be fair, though, the Minecraft movie is better because Jack Black sucks in it
… that’s your metric?
No, it was a complaint.
… that’s your metric for complaints?
Is there a requirement for showing what metric I use to rate actors likeability? Don’t remember seeing that in the sidebar.
