About halfway through chapter 6 in Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.

Unlocked all chracters (at least from what I can see) and starting to learn what’s happening in the story.

Played some more of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Reached World 5. The game is pretty generous with bonuses (at least in the modern mode, don’t remember what they called it), have about 60 lives. Though I had reached 70+ lives and have come down from there, so the game is definitely getting more difficult.

For some reason I always though you can play with all the Kongs, like Diddy and Dixie too, but you can’t do that. Still, the added health and increased jump range helps when you have the second Kong with you.

    I somehow remembered that FFVII was out yesterday and dropped everything to go to GameStop and buy it. Part way there, my son looked up that it was a game-key card only so we turned around and I bought it on the eShop.

    I played through Chapter One, sharing the experience with my wife (her comment: “you’re okay with all this cursing?”). I was really excited by all the “make this game not a chore” options available. Oh, and it’s beautiful.
