I recently discovered this movement thru this article, there’s also a page on Wikipedia.
It seems very interesting to me since it’s basically decentralized proactive anti-capialism mutual-aid. I really think in-real-world decentralized projects like this may be the single most efficient “weapon” we have today.
Do you have any experience with this? I feel like RRFMs are more suitable in big cities and not in little ones, but happy to be wrong about it.
Banners hang from branches and rafters proclaiming “FOR THE COMMONS, NOT LANDLORDS OR BUREAUCRACY” and “NI JEFES, NI FRONTERAS”
I don’t know what that last part means but I’m going to assume it means “No fronters and no Jeffs”
It’s a cool idea but land usage costs and liability are going to be be significant barriers that I didn’t think were addressed sufficiently.
I think it was more than adequately addressed. someone foots the bill to get it rolling and once it’s moving you stop paying.
when no one is in charge who do you send the bill to?
People showing up from out of town will probably buy things locally too, not everyone is a dirty penniless anarchist.
So the assumption is that you just get to occupy the safe for free and the cops will do nothing?
Also, what about the liability portion?
clearly the idea is to use the commons and only pay as a last resort. and liability is an individual problem.
if the cops show up gift them some doughnuts or something idk.
Would “Random Acts of Pizza” count?
