To anyone living these kind of fantasy consoles I always recommend TIC-80 as it is a open source alternative. Feature full. And overall more powerful.
Would be cool if there was a little description of what this is, please.
It’s a fantasy console, a console that has its specifications to achieve the old-style programs on it but isn’t limited to run on certain hardware.
Also, games for it are written in a high level language (Lua) which makes it significantly easier to get into than actual old hardware.
Sounds very niche.
It’s actually really neat. You should check it out.
It’s also an entry point into hobby game dev for a lot of people.
I have too many hobbies as it is, I can’t afford to add another one, time or money wise. 😅
For $12–14, to test something I’m probably not interested in sinking time into, I think I have to pass. Thank you for the suggestion though!
How much are you willing to pay to test something and have an experience? $15 isn’t that much.
I had never heard of it either, but their website does a pretty good job of explaining it.
I recently discovered what this is on my handheld and there are come really fun games. I’ve been playing Celeste Classic today and another that was an Outrun-esque that I forget the name of.
