You can do this in real life with psychedelics. Of course it’s all in your head but it doesn’t always feel under your control which is fun. I don’t really like trance on most drugs or sober but on psychedelics I like it a lot because it affects me instead of annoys me. Similarly, I don’t listen to music I have strong feelings associated with because the drugs will either make me feel those feelings without my filters or sometimes just change those associations altogether. I’m convinced Shpongle exists because no one feels strongly for them sober.

Each genre would have a different effect.

“I was working so late I had to blast Eurodance to stay awake.”

It would be super interesting to me to break down the situations or contexts of why people listen to certain genres

Like, tropical music because you want to relax and feel warm

I mean, I already do that. The mind makes it work to an extent.

But a literal external chemical stimulation to that effect would also be nice. :)
