  • I have an xbox elite pro series 2 that my wife bought me last christmas. I love it. It has a good weight and is a joy in your hands. The triggers have 3 resistance levels. D-pad and thumbsticks are magnetic and easily swappable. Four back paddles can be removed easily if they’re not wanted or needed. It connected to Pop_OS via bluetooth with no issues. I have not tried using the xbox accessories app on Linux because I was able to calibrate it with Steam just fine. Thry’re not cheap but it was worth it.

Edit to add: someone mentiomed drift and I did have a slight issue but was able to adjust for it through Steam. There is also a common complaint that the controllers snap back to center with enough force to actually hit the opposite direction; most commonly noticed in metroidvanias or other 2d platformers where it can make you turn around unintentionally. I was also able to adjust for this with Steam calibration.

  • Coridden Isometric 1 to 4-Player Online Co-Op Shapeshifting Action RPG Platformer with light Metroidvania elements developed by Aftnareld a small studio started by a gaming couple in Sweden.

This was on my wishlist and Steam has it on sale for 30% off. I’ve played 14 hours so far and it has been worth the $14.99 I paid. It’s an isometric action RPG with camera rotation and jumping, so there’s also platforming in there. You play as one of four siblings which as far as I can tell only affects the color your character outline is and some dialog spice.

There are 3 main human classes with their own skill trees plus 2 more once a main class has been chosen; Surge, Hunter, Protector, Hellion. There is also a Custom class which allows you to pick 3 skill trees from any of the other classes. In addition to the human skill trees you will collect various animal forms you can shapeshift into, each has their own main skill tree and another which can be chosen from 2 or 3 options.

Combat is fluid and fun. Your human and shapeshift form have separate energy bars which encourages swapping forms to maintain your energy for attacks and abilities. I have mostly played the Hunter class but have tried others briefly, thanks to an inexpensive respec system you can experiment fairly freely and can respec individual skill trees for human stats and skills and also for the shapeshifting skills.

My only minor complaint is the inventory system; it lacks any options for sorting, and the alterants (like gems or runes in other games) don’t all stack which can cause them to occupy a lot of inventory spots.

  • After I realozed you already have an attack that dives at an angle and bounces off enemoes that first boss and the minions prior became much easier.

First boss only has 3 attacks. Watch for the rumbly floor to see where it is coming from.

It will either jump across or scuttle alomg the bottom.

The jump can be run under and has a distinct sound to cue you in on it, once safely under you can get a couple whaps in.

For the scuttle across the floor you can use the dive attack. I missed a lot with this but you’ll either score a hit and bounce to lamd safely or you’ll overshoot and land safely.

Later in the fight it will go to the center and rumble the floor then pop up and throw two bells in the air which land and then roll off to opposite sides. Stay out of the middle and jump over the bells.

    I think that’s it.
