Finished Chapter 5 of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. I was shocked when that happened! Had many different theories going on in my head, but they explained it soon afterwards.
I maxed affinity level of Elma, and watched all her Heart-to-hearts. Lin and Irina are almost max level, but need a dog to watch their Heart-to-Hearts, which will get to max level.
Did pretty much all the affinity missions that were level appropriate and I met the requirements for. Was going to start Chapter 6, but turns out I need to atleast 20% survey level of Noctilum, but I am only at 5%, as I was spending most of my time in Primordia and Oblivia. Haven’t even stepped foot in Cauldros and Sylvalum.
Am I playing it wrong? Should I explore more? I try to explore but there are high level monsters everywhere and then I die, and think maybe I am not supposed to go there yet. Going to explore Noctilum now, so that I can start Chapter 6.
Dropped Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Started the game, and I just didn’t feel like playing. So decided to drop it.
Looked at games in my backlog and decided to start The Surge. Have been itching for a souls like for a while now. Was waiting for Dark Souls Remastered to go on sale, but since it wasn’t on sale atm, went with The Surge.
I am at 2nd level / stage, the game feels nice. Not at the level of FromSoft ofcourse, but in no way a bad game. Died a few times in general, lots of time at the first boss, but eventually got (a little) gud and beat it. Now kind of stuck at a place, which seems optional, but there seems to be treasure there so want to get it. After dying a dozen times, couldn’t take it any more and switched to another game.
Started Subnautica. I haven’t played any real survival game, and have been meaning to try some for quite some time. This felt like a good time to start one. Took some time to understand the basics, and am finally at the point where I don’t have to worry too much about the food and water. Well, a little bit about the water, but not about food.
I am ready to start my first base. Planning to make it below my life-boat thingy. I am still not sure if the game has any goal, or if it’s just a sandbox where you survive as long as possible. I don’t like open-ended games too much, so not sure how long I’ll play it. Currently unlocking new stuff regularly so no issue right now. Let’s wait and see.

Scary monsters are everywhere, just be careful to not draw their attention. It’s kinda annoying when you bump into ones that are very aggressive and keep chasing you forever, but that’s one of the things that get a lot easier once you have a Skell since you can outrun them on vehicle mode.

Playtime was limited due to the work trip I’m on right now, but I managed to get some good progress before flying away from home. I tried the last method in Enel’s guide for leveling up classes which was ridiculously effective, I got all characters (including the main one) to max class level in less than 2h while also going up something like 10 levels.
Money is a bit tight right now because I bought a Level 50 Skell and those are very pricy, ended up spending some time optimizing FrontierNav setup. Other than that I did a lot of side-quests, but need to find some time to sit down and start moving with the Affinity and Story quests.
Yeah, it’s those aggressive monsters that are annoying, specially if you don’t see them coming.
That guide looks interesting, but apparently you need a skell for those. Will take a look if I need to level up quickly. As for money, I have some good amount, but I only have 3 level 1 research probes, and one level 2 (or maybe level 4) one. Need more of those. Have tons of mining probes though, but other than 8 level 1, only have 1 or 2 of all levels, so can’t make any chains. Hopefully will get more of them soon.

There are some leveling up tricks before you get a Skell, but the main guide requires one (and there’s an even better version if you have a flying skell, which is the one I used). I highly recommend subscribing to Enel’s channel since he has excellent in-depth Xenoblade videos, including combat guides, farming guides, best skills and setups for all weapons and so on.
Need more of those. Have tons of mining probes though
Research probes feel limited even later in the game. Mining ones are aplenty though, even higher level ones so you can build some crazy combos.
I had the urge to play Red Dead Redemption 2 (haven’t played it since the Xbox release so probably 6 years ago) but my god it is a blurry mess. I don’t mind playing old games but the amount of blur is just ridiculous.
I moved on to GTA V and it plays very well but I just find the whole thing very cringe so stopped playing that too.
I going to give Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 a go later instead as I hear good things.
Did play some Octodad with my youngest daughter earlier. It’s so funny watching her but she gets annoyed and thinks I’m laughing at her and not the gameplay so had to stop. We’ll do it again though.
RDR 2 is still on my wishlist, haven’t gotten around to playing it yet. Is that bluriness due to some setting? Cause I’ve always heard how beautiful the game is. I am expecting to be blown away by it’s graphics.

You are playing it right! I love when I finally decide to get off my butt and continue with the story, but it tells me I need to do something else first. It creates a real feel of the flow of time.
Also, I just stepped into Calderos for the first time after chapter eight. It’s a really scary place (for me), so I saved it for last. However, my Calderos percentage dwarfs my Sylvalum explore percent. They are both really scary for me, even in the forties.
Hehe, good thing I didn’t go there then.
There’s currently only one affinity mission that I can do but I skipped, cause it said it’s mainly in Sylvalum. It’s Phog’s affinity mission, and recommended level is 21, so it shouldn’t be too tough…
(Finally) finished Fire Emblem Fates Conquest and started my run in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. Got to the first gym slightly under-leveled, and the Nosepass almost swept me, but in the end I cheesed it by using Destiny Bond with my Ralts. I was hoping it and my Torchic would get some XP from the battle since they’re both going to be on my main team, but not losing to the first gym was more important, lol.
If I play anything on Switch it will probably be more Kirby’s Return to Dreamland. I’m on the ice world and it looks at first glance like this is a really short game, but I do know the plot twist so maybe there is a bunch more content coming. I’ll see.

How long to beat says main game is about 7 hours long, so not very long, but completionist is at 25 hours, so dunno.
I’m late to the party, but I just got into Pokemon Legends Arceus.
