100dB high-pitched guitars, relentless double bass and shrieking vocals at a black metal show: total bliss.

My kids when they yell out of excitement: unbearable.

      Like driving on the highway:

Everyone going slower is an idiot, everyone going faster is an asshole.

One way I’ve seen this explained is that the bad sensory stuff is things that you can’t control. Whereas the humming or chatting or music or whatever is something that you’re in complete control of. It’s noise that you want and expect, not noise that’s disrupting you.

I would be so interested to compare .log files for an autistic person and a ‘normal’ person.

Audhd here, It would be nice if it were a quiet log file. I log straight to the console AND it’s probably with DEBUG enabled.

I have misophonia and sounds that I make myself are definitely included. I try to minimise the noise I make at basically all times.

My own noises definitely bug me sometimes, and I generally try and keep quiet. Can’t really recommend, though. It definitely contributes to making one’s self an uninteresting wallflower.
