Turns out, rising times of ever-escalating fascism is profoundly bad for queers who dress to stand out.

Things got a bit muted, a bit sadder, a bit more somber.

A friend of mine says, “you look like an android trying her hardest to escape Detroit,” and I don’t think she’s wrong; and good god, what a fucking parallel to now-times.

I couldn’t dress normal even if I tried.

I made a selfie post here like a year ago, so I hope it’s okay to make another one. A few of you were amazed at my outfits and such, and told me to never change, to keep standing out.

Sorry my look changed, but it helps keep me safer.

Wow! I love your style. That layered look with the deep purple cardigan is just awesome. The gloves and skinny pants are a nice touch, too.

Hey, muted can be classy, you just pulled it off! 🧡

It’s actually a gray miniskirt and black tights!

But yeah, clothes that close at the top and stay open at the bottom seem to have good future vibes.

Oh yeah! I had to check it out again – and realized I haven’t been to the ophthalmologist in a few years – I love miniskirts myself, that’s a great look!

Also, I like how you did your hair: neat and professional, very pretty. That dark purple cardigan looks really good on you 👍

You just inspired me, I’m going to borrow your color combination!

I feel this. I started buying more simple black and other drab-colored clothing this year without immediately putting two and two together that it was because I don’t feel safe in the country I live in anymore.

Your new style works really well for you too! It just shouldn’t have to be this way. It should be our choice without having to worry about how others will react.
