I got an app on my watch that is just a timer/tracker for water. Every 2 hours it alerts me to drink. I didn’t think it would do much for me but was surprised how much more water i drank in a day.

True as fuck. A few days ago I was walking to my mother to tell her something, but halfway through going down the stairs I completely forgot and told her “hold on lemme go back upstairs to remember what I was gonna say”. I then recalled that I wanted to tell her I ate an amazing chicken burger when I was out that day.

this reminds me of having to scroll back on a weboage because you had a random unrelated thought you forgot, so you scroll until you find the spark.

i remember figuring this out when i was like 6, playing games on my pc. I had a thought, promptly forgot it, then i just figured i’d go repeat what i was doing to recall, i felt like a genius

Obviously I can’t remember where, but I recall reading that walking through perceived thresholds can act sort of like clearing your brains “cache”, which is why we often forget what we went into a room for.

I would make to-do lists, but then I get overwhelmed at the things I have listed don’t seem to match up with the things I felt stressed about.

Cheat, put down things that you have to do to survive and things you’ve already done, spatter them in and check them bitches off. For whatever reason it seems to work.

I feel that. Something that I found helpful was to pair up tasks. So like, if there was a task that I wanted to do that was causing me stress, but it was relatively low priority compared to stuff on my actual to-do list, I’d allow myself to do one of the important-to-me tasks for every actually-important task that I got done.

It didn’t help much with the problem of actually getting the tasks on my to-do lists done (though I think that battle is a never ending quest for anyone with ADHD), but it meant that on a day where I did get some stuff done, I got to chip away at the list of stuff that had been stressing me out as well as the big Tasks. Occasionally, I found that this helped me to build momentum

Write a stressor list instead, and see if you can break any of them down into smaller tasks to make progress on them?

Idk if that would work, or work for you specifically, but it might help to knock some of them out, even just a bit. As my friends and I always say “any progress is good progress.”

All of my travel itineraries are planned to the minute, including travel time.

None of them have time to eat blocked-out.

    I should get that diagnosis.

You’re probably due for some more water. Humans bodies are very high maintenance and ideally need water multiple times per day

This comment brought to you by the fact that your comment prompted me to remember to hydrate

For me it’s often me seeing something online then thinking “oh should check that out” then I do something else real quick first and forget what I wanted to check out but know I wanted to check SOMETHING so I go back, scroll up and reread everything until I remember the line of thought.
