Then you put the extra bottle you bought away, and realize you really should have checked the cabinet, and now you have 3.
And then forget in 5 minutes cause I was in the shower.
Then remember immediately the next time you get in the shower. Vicious cycle.
Rinse and repeat
Or just rinse, save some shampoo for tomorrow.

I do this with tooth paste.
I’ve started buying two tubes at a time because I can’t be trusted
My husband buys the toothpaste. When mine runs out I take his so that he will always know if the closet stock is empty. If I took one from the closet, and it was the last one then we might be left without. When we get low, it’s a game where we are constantly stealing the tube back and forth . I like to think this game helps him remember to get some more.
This is why I set the bottle in the bathroom sink after having this thought. Its hard to ignore something so out of place and in the way
Then when you go to use the sink you set it aside cause you need to use the sink and it’s promptly forgotten again.
Toss it over the curtain so that it clatters to a weird spot that is hard to miss.
Hard, but still doable.

In two years, only these two guys thought of buying more shampoo.
Back before covid, like June of 2019, I bought a whole bunch of soap, shampoo etc. figuring that stuff has a very long shelf life. I’m actually still working through the stocks I bought, I’ve probably got enough bath soap to last into the 2030s.
I decided not to buy a bulk lot of toilet paper, not knowing I live in the dumbest timeline.
Shower thoughts in the shower? Hmm…
And how many bottles are still in your closet? Because that’s always the first thing you should check after thinking that particular thought.
I have three bottles, still sitting neatly in their half of the 2 pack packaging. It hurts.
