The first time I heard about Star Citizen and S42, I was a teen and wasn’t able to save up enough allowance to buy even the cheapest ship/the game.
Now I’m looking to build a house with the love of my life.
I’ll probably have grandkids by the time this actually comes out. I have zero interest left.
I liked the comment on a YouTube talking about this game saying when it finally releases people will be playing with ships they’ve inherited from their parents
You mean one can play ships from Star Citizen in Squadron 42? Otherwise, how would the parents have ships already playing the game, if its not released. I’m a bit confused about what is meant here.

Star Citizen has been in development since before both GTA V and goddamn Skyrim released
They literally both started 2014
The SC kickstarter was 2012, but it started development in 2010
They have to release it in 2026. It my arbitrary deadline for them. Then I give up hope.
They have VCs at the helm rn, I think they might be mitigating some of the Robert micromanagement.
Also fun fact - The original release date was 2017 btw for squadron 42. Lol.
At this point, I believe Half-Life 3 will come out before Star Citizen Squadron 42 part.
That would be the funniest thing ever.
And I am much more interested in HL3 than SQ42 which is very likely to be flashy, but mediocre to bad in many core things.
I don’t even need HL3 to be revolutionary, I want to know what happens next and I want to experience the world building of the HL reality.

Ya but is it fun? Star Citizen is playable but like…last time I tried it, there wasn’t quite a gameplay loop yet.
Squadron 42 will be a separate story campaign, when it eventually releases

SC is supposed to be more of a “space life” sim, so it’s kinda like “do what you want.” The loop would basically consist of gaining reputation to do missions to earn money/rewards to buy ships so you can do other types of missions/content.
The loop exists, but especially right now I wouldn’t trust anything that requires delivering a physical item. They just go poof lately…
There are many different loops, though it is a sandbox game. The narrative story is being written at the moment if that’s what you’re after
