Title says it all. What really irks you that you don’t get to complain about much without catching some glances? Seriously, get as passionate as you’d like. I assume you’re an expert.

Street lights and cars. We have the technology to adjust street light brightness and color, if we must have them could we at least dim them in the evening and use warmer tones. Helps us, helps the nature.

Ban most of the private car driving and compensate by building tram/train tracks. The noise cars make is just obnoxious.

Also people not caring about the climate change and the environmental impact our culture has. Being comfortable is more important than making the right choices. People are willing to look away from almost anything as long as they don’t feel uncomfortable in their private lives.

    Advertsing.

Blessed Aiyuna, the stuff is inescapable. Our civilization has somehow decided that, if you have money, you have a goddess-given right to get ALL UP EVERY WHERE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY PERSON AND HEY YOU ARE NOT PAYING ENOUGH ATTENTION LET ME GET EVEN LOUDER SO YOU CAN HEAR ME EVEN IF YOU WALK OUT OF THE ROOM FOR YOUR OWN SANITY SINCE EVERYBODY ELSE IS JUST GOING TO BE LIKE, “WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT?”

    It is not great.

Feeling/hearing the hum of electricity through the walls, plugs, etc.

It’s not just when things are on, but if they’re plugged in at all that they make even more noise. Drove me to a point I pulled every single electric and electronic object out of my room and brought back in only what I absolutely needed after about a week.

If I could turn off the circuit breaker to just my room for a breather I would in a heartbeat, but I live with other people. Alas.

People watching shit on their smartphone with the volume full fucking blast. What happened to Airpods and the like? Use them ffs! not a single person wants to hear whatever bullshit is coming out of your phone.

Honorable mention: cars with speakers in the grille. Not one single solitary person wants to hear your stupid playlist either, and your speakers fucking suck anyway. Yes, I’m talking to you, bozo in the donked out Chrysler 300 that drives down my street.

Hey friend, how dare you besmirch my grille speakers!

I use them all the time at the drive-in theater to broadcast the radio channel with the movie audio so everyone not in their car can hear the movie.

People seem to be thankful… but should I be worried to the point I ruminate late into the night for the next few weeks, and then once every few months for the rest of my life, about how I may have angered someone while trying to help others at the drive-in? /jk

But seriously, I can see the point for certain car culture type meet ups, I didn’t want them in my car, only discovered them after I bought it. Was at the drive-in, it was a nice night, was sitting outside of the car but couldn’t hear the movie, thought if those speakers and they have come in very handy ever since in this, and only this, setting.

yes thank you! 100% agree. I should not be the one having to shove my noise cancelling earphones in just so someone else can blast some 10 second instagram short that repeats over and over and over ad nauseam while they, I assume, scroll through mindless bot comments.

Motors. They are everywhere. Big motors, small motors, motors in every vehicle, motors in many home appliances, fans in many of your electronics, on the ceiling, in the walls, standing on the floors, inside, outside, you can hear them in the sky, or running down the tracks. Noisy, noisy motors and somehow it’s all background noise to everyone else but me.

Is it summer time? Want to open a window and listen to the birds sing? Nah, fuck you it’s the neighbour’s air conditioning unit.

Am I crazy or is the rest of world crazy? Who knows. Here’s a motor. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Cardboard game pieces being placed upside-down. When I’ve brought this up to other people, they’ve said they can’t even tell there’s a difference! You can both see and feel that one side has a rounded edge and one side has a flat edge. Usually the top has a slightly better print quality than the bottom as well. Sometimes I feel like people just float around without gathering any sensory data at all!
